My favorite bakery reopened in one of the supermarkets here, which I found out when one of my students walked into class eating a donut. I followed its scent into her cubby and interrogated her as to its origins, but with a smile on my face so she wouldn’t know it was serious. I stopped by the place later in the day (8pm) to pick up a donut, a danish, and a package of donut holes. The donut holes were a risk – I can’t tell if they’re technically glazed or if they’re just coated in some sort of flavored syrup that could possibly be disgusting. If they’re horrible I’ll have to eat them all at once to get rid of them and then go back and buy the chocolate ones. Fingers crossed.
