Still in Qingdao!

This is the former governor’s mansion, which is now a museum. The old part of town, where the Chinese government used to have its city hall before moving the central business district closer to what would become the Olympic Sailing Center, is littered with German architecture, creating an intriguing cultural tango that’s definitely worth seeing while it lasts – China’s reputation for historical preservation isn’t exactly stellar (see any article in the NY Times about Beijing’s traditional hutong neighborhoods).
